Here is what I remember* from this shoot: it was taken at a beautiful home in London in which a very prized parrot lived. The parrot made itself known often —- In that lacerating way only parrots can. I was somewhere in the middle of an extensive press tour for MASSEDUCTION and very jet lagged + the kind of dullsick you get from talking about yourself too much like a used car salesman. I somehow convinced the photographer to let me lie down on the bed as a means of getting a tiny respite. “Wouldn’t It beautiful of I just lie here and close my eyes?” What she captured looks perhaps like dreamy thoughtfulness. It is, in fact, delirious fatigue — and a queasiness from the paint fumes I breathed the previous day (in a *debatably* ill-fated “interview box” —- an 8-foot bright pink cube in which I sat, bathed in bright pink light, at a table fielding questions from UK and European press for 10 hours straight. The problem was, the box had only been painted the day before, so the fumes hadn’t dissipated at all so I just got higher and higher and stranger and stranger…).

Alas, she got what really appears to be a sweet moment. And maybe that is what matters. .
